Women's Health

Much like menopause, my path to medicine wasn’t a straight line. I graduated initially in sociocultural anthropology and communication at the University of Utah, which taught me to be curious about people and their stories. Later, I earned my medical degree from the University of New England in 2010 and have worked in women’s health ever since.

Eight years ago, I went through surgical menopause myself, and it was a turning point. I realized how outdated the care for menopausal women really was — and I committed to becoming both a better provider and a true advocate. I’ve spent the last three years as a clinical director at a functional medicine and hormone replacement clinic, now I’m ready to pour that experience and compassion into Viella.

As a 49-year-old woman navigating my own post-menopause journey while raising four children, I understand this chapter of life personally, as well as professionally. I’ve weathered puberty and menopause simultaneously under the same roof with my daughters. I’ve learned patience through parenting kids, dogs, cats, and even pet rats.

Outside of medicine, I love to rock hound, travel, read, and do puzzles — small joys that keep me grounded and remind me to appreciate the details, something I bring into my care for patients. At Viella, there are no hierarchies, only sisterhood. I believe healthcare works best when it’s built on trust, honesty, and communication. We are committed to providing up-to-date clinical care with compassion (and yes, a little sass). Too many providers recycle outdated algorithms. At Viella, we’re forging a new path — one that empowers women with knowledge, advocacy, and treatment options that are rooted in science, not dogma and retracted medical trials, like the women’s health initiative, which caused the uproar that hormone replacement caused cancer. This is unfounded and these claims have been retracted. Still many providers and patients alike are unaware of this. It is time to update and progress!

I’m excited to meet you, learn your story, and walk alongside you in this season of life. Welcome to Viella — I’m so glad you’re here.
